SW is out, isn't it? I watched the movie with few fans and tested my new to me K 50mm f1.2 on my K2DMD and a yellow filter, new lab that made the roll of XP2 somewhat grainy, I am a little dissapointed but the lens is good, this is at f8:

A chick I shot at f1.2 with an idiot in the front:

Very low light test at f1.2 and 1/30 sec:

Not SW pic:

Some shots from the local museum's Pompeii exhibit. Due to the light and the need to choose shutter speeds where I would still be able to hold the camera steady, I often wound up with a lot of lost details in the shadows. Ah well.

Canon AE-1.
(New) FD 35-70mm f4. [Should have chosen a faster lens, but I wanted the versatility.]
Fuji Neopan 400 pushed to 1600. [I love pushing this stuff. I'm down to two rolls now, and will be quite disappointed when they're gone.]

Yes it is, especially in those darker tones.

Loaded some Tri-X in the 645n and gave it a spin. I like how it came out, especially in the highlights. (I've been shooting mainly FP4+ and HP5+ lately.)

So you finally decided to get the K 50 1.2 - I think I recall you saying once to hold onto your sweet Canon/ Nikon fast primes for the time being, so I assume the lens must have been either cheap ? or irrepressible enough ??

It appears to be a very nice copy - especially girl's shot shows loads of detail for 1.2 (especially for this grainy film!) - congratulation!

Cheap not quite...affordable, sort of...200 quid.

I need to shoot more but in the gear p0rn thread I'll post a pic of my 1.2s, I need to shoot a roll of colour with this lens, I want to study it more....generally speaking I find it cool I can shoot at f22, all my other lenses just go down to f16.

More SW pics:

And yes, the grain annoys me, I think it's a problem of bad scan/development from the lab.

I'd call it a bargain if its in great condition! From pictures the lens clearly has a potential so it might really take just few more rolls until you might use it to its fullest. I know how I neglected my A 50 1.2 which also proven to be sharp but so far it is shameful to admit I didn't try it on film. And yeah the bad development really can spoil even a best negative.. for some casual shots I need to stop being lazy and finally develop some of those older rolls. But for some important rolls I really wish I could find a lab where somebody would put an effort and skill into doing their job... Anyway thanks for sharing and looking forward to more of your shots with K50 1.2 !

I finally developed a roll of Delta 3200 successfully!

I also found this retro 400s shot I hadn't scanned - wiry roadwork shot with a Petri racer.
