I use the blue painters tape. I place a strip about 1/2" wide and 2" long on the film. 1/2" of the film is all I tape.

Then I wrap the tape around the spool, but I leave the free end free.

Then I press the free end of the tape to the bottom of the film strip. That leaves the film on the spool, with 1/2 of tape on both sides, virtually ensuring that the film will remain attacked to the spool.

The painters tape is easy to work with, and strong enough that to pull the film off the roll, you would be more likely to break the advance lever, strip gears and break the camera, than to break the tape or bond.
That is the method I use, though with masking tape. No problem with residue.

Good contrast - are you developing your own? If so, developer and times...I am struggling with getting the right times down on my Acros with HC110
Thanks

Thanks for the responses on the tape issue. I have a number of rolls ready to go so I will revisit next time I have to roll some film.
Drmoss_ca you and I can't be too far away, I am in currently in HRM.

Colton, that is the same procedure I am using but it seems to be giving me trouble. Are the pictures you post from google photos shared publicly (on google photos) or shared privately?

Sorry for dragging the thread of course a little if I could I would post a few photos. Hopefully shortly I will get those Bon Echo shots up.

I am sharing an article that any black and white film enthusiast will appreciate. The photographs are amazing, and considering the impediments on developing and storing their film, the results are incredibly beautiful. Enjoy...
