1. Not entirely true. I'm pretty sure a few shots I remembered to remove the dark slide but forgot to open the other shutter before shooting.

Fomapan 200 Creative.

Nice work!

Always wanted to try a Speed Graphic, keep seeing them at local camera shows but I'm not sure on the condition or who would/could fix them.

First medium format film processed at home. RB67ProSD with HP5+. Exposure using Pentax Spotmeter V. Rondinax 60 tank used for first time and I stuffed up the film loading. Ilford ID-11 and canoscan 8400F.
First shot is panorama to avoid creased negative.

Nice catch on the pedestrian crossing the street. I've probably got tons of shots of that building, but none have quite captured the moment like that.

Thanks! The Gooderham and Worts Flatiron is one of those Toronto Photographic Cliches but I still love shooting it.

Shot some well-expired ORWO NP55. Unfortunately the source for it appears to have been a badly stored batch, as all shots had minor to severe fogging along the bottom segment of the frame — the same issue I had when I shot some in another camera a while back. The below is one of the better results. Ah well.

You'd be surprised. I'll wager there are still quite a few techs who will service Speed Graphics. They may not all be able to restore a shutter if you have a Pacemaker Speed, but then that just means you use the lens's shutter -- no biggie.

It's because of all the Rube Goldberg shutter nonsense that I've stayed away from Pacemaker Speeds. I prefer the Crown instead, which is closer to a pure 4x5 field camera. The late model with the top-mounted rangefinder is the best. And if you prefer the smaller 2-1/4 x 3-1/4 format, the Century Graphic is well worth a look. A really cute, compact, yet very flexible camera.

I was lucky, in that I got my Pacemaker at an estate auction. (For $50CAD even. A steal, really.) The guy who it belonged to had been a camera collector and appears to have taken good care of his equipment.

I took the Sonnar monster out for some test shoots with my VLC3, and I took some portraits wide open.

Merciless lens with women.

I missed this focus slightly because the original screen of the VLC3 isn't that great, but I appreciate the sort of soft focus effect:

Balloons:

Doesn't need comments:

I love this lens...besides the weight of course, if you a M42 fast 200 mm this is the lens for you.

I am not familiar with that lens...is it as big and heavy as the Sonnar?

I appreciate the sharpness of this chunky piece of glass....not much the greenish tint of these scans.
