From what I could tell, just tiny LEDs placed under the top page.

Small mushrooms. Spotmatic 400TX SMC55, extension tube, laser.
With the camera ground level, the viewfinder can't be used for focusing. A laser pointer shone into the viewfinder can be focused to a spot on the subject. I wouldn't risk this with a digital camera, or even a film camera with an auto focus sensor.

From a trip to Graz, Austria earlier this year. I think these were shot with a K1000 and an CV 40 f2 on HP5 with a yellow-green filter (based on the lens hood in one of the images)

That is super clever!

Thanks bobbotron. Results may vary with the type of focusing screen. With a spotmatic, if you hit the center microprism area, the beam will come out as four dots to be converged into one. It works surprisingly well.

So I, uh, may have bought another Flexaret.

This one's a Flexaret Standard, which is essentially a low-end model based off of the Flexaret VI. The downside is that it's got an 80/3.5 viewing lens, as opposed to the 80/3 that was standard on all other models from the Flexaret II onwards. The upside is red window advance, which means the frame counter — a potential weak point — isn't present to break.

Probably will be my last Flexaret, unless I manage to spot an elusive Flexaret I (or the related and equally rare Flexette, Autoflex, or Optiflex).

Some shots from the test roll.

Meopta Flexaret Standard.
Meopta Belar 80mm f3.5.
Kodak T-Max 400.

Yep. I'm happy with it.

There's coating damage to one of the lenses, but that's fairly common for the rather soft coating that Meopta used. The focusing screen could also use a quick cleaning, but having seen how you access those on a Flexaret1 I think it's going to stay as is.

1. Unlike most other TLR manufacturers, who placed the screws holding in the finder around the outer edge, Meopta placed theirs under the leatherette.

If you are looking to do a CLA, I used this guy for an old German rangefinder (Akarelle) that my father-in-law gave me. Much slower turnaround than Eric, but nevertheless the camera is in much better shape than it was before.

Thanks. I'll look into him, though possibly more for one or two other cameras. (I've also been given the name of a local guy, who I've been meaning to talk to as well.)

And with that, back to flooding the thread with my photos.

This is from my Kiev-4A & Jupiter-12, which is the camera/lens combination that I'm most likely to have trouble with. (Inconsistent shutter speeds from the body, and notable barrel distortion and occasional vignetting from the lens.)

A couple of pics of a Northrup F5E Tiger in the US Navy's Top Gun aggressor livery (note the star on the tail), shot with my Pentax 67 and 45mm lens. Taken at the 2015 Wings Over Houston airshow. Film is T-Max, developed in D-76. Scanned with an Epson 4990 at 2400 ppi using Epson Scan software. (Excuse the cat hairs and dust)
