I've described this statue as one of my standard test shots
before, but one thing I never noticed until recently is that while the majority of the statue group was coated to protect against the elements and oxidization, the eyes weren't. The effect is rather striking or terrifying, depending on your opinion of it.
And a second that I'm just happy I managed to get at both the correct time and entirely in frame. (My Contax had come with the
finder mask for 85 & 135mm lenses, but I'd never used it before. While composing and focusing in the same rangefinder window is certainly more convenient than swapping between it and my old KMZ turret finder, this particular mask is best described as dark and squinty. And that was at 85mm; I expect 135 would be next to impossible.)
