Universal Screw Mount is an apt moniker -- probably the most universal mount ever created for SLRs.
For smaller camera makers, that didn't make or market a lot of lenses under their own label, saying the camera could use any of those Universal/Pentax mount lenses had to be a selling point. There seem to be a lot of camera makers who stayed with the Universal m42 screw mount until they created their own proprietary bayonet mount. I believe it was Petri, whose first SLRs were m42, then they went to their own bayonet mount for a series of slr models, and then they WENT BACK TO the m42 screw mount! Having a proprietary lens mount must have had some disadvantages.

Really the only advantage of a proprietary mount is vendor-lock-in. Imagine how much waste there is for third-party lens manufacturers.

Excellent point! And it seems to be something that Tamron especially understood in the years of the T-mount, the Adaptall-mount, and the Adaptall2-mount. There were a few others who offered changeable mount lenses, but Tamron stayed with it the longest.

The cost of going to the fair has sure gone up. I wanted to take my camera on this and other rides for some slow exposures but the lines were too long of a wait because I also wanted to shoot up some aging Delta 3200 during dusk.

Shooting up some 2013 expired Delta 3200. It has some base fogging already.

Thanks. It makes me wish I had a tripod with finer grain film for that one.

Market signs. More expired Delta 3200 using my Fuji GSW690III rangefinder. These I just shot at my slowest handhold shutter speed in hopes some would have enough exposure. The first one I even supported one end of the camera on the table.

I just amended the film to TriX.

I didn`t push the film at all.
The neg was badly damaged and had to be washed and cleaned and a deal post adjustment in pshop.

I persevered because the young lady in question had just lost her father and he`d made her the wooden show whip in the photo.

The print is dark but no where near as noisy as it appears here ....in fact seeing it just now I was in two minds to delete it.
