Who knew that a cross between an Autoharp stringed instrument and a Miracord record turntable would be able to take such great pictures!

Hehe. I keep reading from Autocord owners how they smoke the Rolleiflexes, which makes me want one bad. But they're just as expensive as the Rolleis, if not moreso, unfortunately. So my champagne tastes and beer budget bought me the next best thing -- a Yashica Mat 124. Not the G. It's a sweet little camera, but I think it's probably a step or two behind that Autocord.

But it works okay in a pinch. Tri-X developed in full-strength D76, scanned with an Epson 4990 at 2400 ppi

That's a rather nice shot. What was your aperture?

I've got the almost similar Yashica 24 with the same Yashinon 80mm f3.5 lens. It can be a bit soft unless stopped down quite a bit.

I've got the even lower-end Yashica-A. Not high-end, but still nice. I've got a photo posted on the Medium Format and general film threads from that camera. (Haven't used any B&W film in it yet).

The only TLRs (from my experience) I would recommend against are from Argus: Except for the original ArgoFlex, they only take 620 film. And they have weird F-stop markings, 4.5, 6.3, 9, 12.7, 18. Although the weird f-stops are still workable if you use, say a phone light meter app.

One from the Argus Argoflex EF:

I'm thinking about bidding on a Ricoh Diacord, anybody have experience with one of those?

Possibly my favourite focusing mechanism for a TLR. The two levers are just so natural-feeling in use.

I don't have any photos to offer, but there was a recent post about it on FSC that had some: In praise of the humble Ricoh Diacord | Howard Sandler | Film Shooters Collective

An old 2009 picture from my Rolleicord IV with a Schneider Xenar 75/3.5. It is only sharp at f11 with really soft conners the wider you go.

100 Acros, Rollei sports filter

That looks pin sharp. Fine grained Acros helps I think. Very nice.

Found out how valuable a Refconverter "A" along with the Cable Switch "A" is for long exposure and macro, especially the 2x magnification for precise focusing. Super Program and Delta 100 for both photos

FA 20-35 - 4 sec exposure

Near as I recall, it was about f/11. Decent depth of field at that aperture setting.

I just remembered these shots I took with my Yashica Mat 124. Aperture setting was most likely f/8. Tri-X developed in full-strength D76, scanned at 2400 ppi on my Epson 4990.

Cropped for artistic reasons:

This is a recent shot I took on some Agfa APX 100. I purchased a 100' roll in the mid 1990s. It has always been refrigerated, except every few months when I spool a couple of rolls. The grain is much more noticeable now than it was then... but that's not surprising. It was my favorite 35mm film for many years.
Scanned on Plustek 7500i

Looks nice. The grain is not apparent at this level of magnification.
