David N. Dinkins Manhattan Municipal Building
That is the Manhattan Bridge in the background.
Something about that building, the line across the upperfloors that breaks up the lines before the shorter windows below, almost makes it seem like a shoreline, with lower portion being broken, rippled reflections of the upper. Like a palatial estate sitting on a lakefront.... I like it.

Ha... well when I took the photo, I knew it was a gov't building, but I shot it for its beauty - it is true, that top portion looks out of place; it is however typical of the Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall Manhattan area.

Thanks!

Shelfie

I believe 'shelfies' are all the rage, especially amongst the young peeps. So here's mine: Pentax MX, Hoya 24mm f2.8 lens, f11 @ 1/8 sec. Ilford FP4, Ilfotec DD-X for 8 3/4 mins @ 21.5°C.

Benbo Trekker shelfie stick.

It is a shelfie, right?

While this photo seems completely innocuous to me, it would give my lady an near-aneurysm.
We don't "do" horizontal stacks atop vertical books around here.

I was making maximum use of available space. Mrs B. doesn't go in 'my' room much (phew!). We have other bookcases around the house where the heights of the shelves can be altered and aligned with books of certain sizes.

But usually the inevitable happens...

Yes but we know where everything is. Eventually we have to yield to higher authority and reorganise or they "TIDY" the room and nothing can be found, my "she who must be obeyed" has the assistance of our five daughters, one of whom would have you organised out of existence if you turned your back.

Going back to the photo, and before I looked at the OP's location, I figured it had to be in the UK from the type of rooflight, thats the sort of detail a lifetime in building does to your sensibilities.

Good job! Great lil camera eh? What all did you have to do to get a working copy?
Hahah - I'm not gonna lie though, when I first glanced at the top photo I thought its title was "poop on rail". But I see that's not the case!
Looks like it's shooting well - were these in AE mode or manually set?

Yeah those tiny little compact RF barely make a sound. I love and at the same time always almost feel like something is missing. Where's the "twack"? The Konica SLRs are the completle opposite - they make themselves very known. I've grown to like it. Definitely a more substantial feeling/sound than most Pentaxes.
