Fomapan 200 + Caffenol CH for 15 minutes ... taken with a Spot II (that I just had CLA'ed) and a Super-Tak 28/3.5 ... middle one is a bit cropped and the last one has been tortured in Lr4 ... scanned via my Epson V600.

Nice results. Much more Foma-like than the 100 in Caffenol.

Grain reminds me of Bergger Pancro.

Merci.

Yeah, I would agree ... and I still have a roll of Foma 200 in the Canonet QL17 that needs to be finished.

Stay tuned ...

Did Bergger ever figure out their production issues?

I dunno. ISTR seeing some on the shelf at local camera store last week. Might try some in 120, way too grainy in 135 for my taste.

I was quite pleased with the 135 in Rodinal. The 135 seems hit or miss, but 120 seems easier to find.

That might be the trick. I get mine store-processed so not an option.

What were their production issues? I know Ferrania were having production issues. I've got a few rolls of Bergger Pancro in 35mm. It is grainy but I don't think its too bad. I've got one roll in 120 but haven't got round to trying it yet.

Chronically backordered with some sizes not being available for pretty much forever. I have not seen 35mm or 120 in stock for well over a year. Ferrania, OTOH, has never had an official production run, despite offering beta product to backers. Ferrania has been refactoring their physical layout (again) based on what they learned on the beta run.

I finally put a roll through my dad's Pentax SV. I don't have any memory of him ever using it. I'm pretty sure he moved on to automated point-and-shoots by the time we came along. When I was a kid I found it in a drawer and every now and then I'd take it out to mess with it, without any film, of course. The knobs, levers, dials, lenses, and mirror were fascinating. For some reason, I took a metal tool, maybe a screwdriver, and started scratching the mirror. When he passed away a few years ago, I took it from my mom and dad's house thinking I would get it fixed up and back in shooting shape. I sent it off to Eric and asked if he could replace the mirror if he had a spare. He sent back the camera all fixed up, but with the original mirror. I'm kind of glad he did.

This is the camera that lead me to a Pentax K100D when I decided to jump on the DSLR bandwagon. I wanted to be able to use his old M42 Takumars. Now I've come almost full circle and regularly shoot with an MX, KX, and ME Super. I'll be adding the SV to the regular rotation.
I have a couple of SVs. Pure quality meant to last and no electrics at all. I shot a roll of 24 both inside and out using only Sunny 16 rule. No problems.
