Fomapan 200 with a Canonet QL17 home developed in Caffenol CH ... finally finished this roll and I really prefer the Fomapan 100 film in Caffenol CH. The last image was scanned in the "backlight" correction applied, then tortured in Lr4.

A potter in the central High Atlas mountains, Morocco, 1983. Pentax MX with smc Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 or 100mm f/2.8 (more likely judging from the perspective). Ilford FP4 film developed in ID-11 1+3. Negative copied (“DSLR scanned”) using Pentax K-1 with Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon-Zirconia 2.8/89 1.0x (an industrial lens for line scan applications).

Kodak UltraMax 400 color film home developed in Caffenol CH. Taken in Chatellerault yesterday with a Pentax S1a with an Auto Takumar 55/2. I used just the "Photo Friend" cell phone application for a light meter and it worked well ... although some shots were made on the fly, so to speak.

These look great! Is there a B/W developer that you would NOT consider using for color negs? The thought crosses my mind to try every now and then.

Merci ... I do not know really and I am still experimenting here and there. I have some Rodinal that I am going to give a try some time soon ... plus I am going to use soon Caffenol CL, which is a stand development.

I have about 10+ rolls of el-cheapo expired color film which have collected up recently and I may shoot a couple as well ... on verra.

Salut, J

Assuming you do have access to a c41 lab, it's unclear to me what the advantage is in b+w dev, since you can easily convert color neg scans to monochrome with control over channel mix.

printing in a darkroom would be the primary benefit. Maybe also cheap black and white film for home development--the cheapest roll of B&W film on B&H is $3.49 (Kentmere 400, 24exp), the cheapest color is $2.79 (Fuji Superia 400, 24exp)....

Thanks for your input. Of course, I knew that already.
