I really like the texture of the water in this one.

Really nice shots. The contrast and light is great and interesting subjects too, well done.

I wanted to do this over because of the extra reflection artifacts from a window and try for another one but never got around to it so I finally scanned it anyway.

That looks really nice regardless of the reflection.
What did you use for the light source and what is the surface that the glass etc was sitting on?

Thanks. The surface is a smoked plexiglass. A window with a white nylon sheet over it is the light source as well as reflectors on the the camera side. The window framing showed up through the nylon sheet as well as others things. You have some control over how bright the reflection is from the angle of view.

Thanks Tuco.
Now I better post a photo myself!

This picture I took during a photography class. We were supposed to do two, one in manual and one using macro auto function (flower symbol) to see the difference between the two. When asked about my results, I proudly explains the KP has no flower symbol so I had only one photograph in macro. This is the picture here.

I'd never heard of a Balda Baldix before. Looked it up and it sounds like a wonderful camera. Your photo looks like a lovely example of what the old camera is capable of, well done. What a lovely shot of an old tree. It also reminds me that I need to get out and shoot some medium format.

Here's a recent scan from a tree shot in 35mm.

Thanks for your comments there, Goddo. I have two Baldixes: a Mess-Baldix (rangefinder version) with a Baltar f4.5 75mm lens and Prontor SVS shutter - never had as much fun with a camera in my life! - and the more recent addition, the Baldix non-rangefinder but with an Ennagon f3.5 75mm lens. When I got the second one (Ebay, like the first one), the shutter was sluggish below 1/10 sec and 'infinity' was way-out! I removed the front and rear lens elements and cleaned them, along with the middle element, after flushing out the Prontor S shutter with isopropyl alcohol. Collimated the lens and set it up at 10' - seems to focus OK at infinity now.

A Hapo 66-E is very similar. There were several Baldix variants with different combinations of lenses, shutter and the rangefinder function. There's a lens hierarchy and the 4-element f2.8 lens 'top-of-the-range' model is meant to be very good indeed.

I have a Pentax too, which is why I'm on here. An MX. Had it since new in 1981.

The tree is part of an ancient hedgerow on our works site and as such is relatively unmolested.
