I had the Chinon pancake on my first MX. Such a lovely bit of glass, and makes the MX *almost* pocketable.

I tried it on my K1, and it’s not awesome - until it’s stopped down, the edges are pretty weak. But on film, some of its flaws are less obvious and I like it a lot.

I once saw a Morris Minor with a nylon cord going out the wing wind and under the hood. I asked the owner what's that for. He lifted the bonnet and showed me. The cord was tied to a large rock right over the electric fuel pump. The pump has breaker points much like what older cars have in their distributor.

The contact surfaces on the points would corrode and pit over time and get sticky causing he pump to not operate. But a tap with a hammer would be enough to un-stick the points and it would operate again for a while. So this guy would drive down the road occasionally pulling on the cord dropping the rock on the pump to keep the fuel flowing.

I passed on buying a Triumph GT6 where the owner had pun a momentary switch on the days that went to a solenoid under the hood that pressed the nozzle on a can of starter fluid pointed into the intake. It seemed a lot of engineering that should have been spent on a carburetor rebuild and a head gasket.

Morris, Mini, Triumph... what do they have in common?

... asks the guy who fixed a VW with a broken accelerator cable using a rock...

Put together something for my first picture from my Pacemaker Crown Graphic. No light leaks. Good-to-go. The camera has a little front tilt and rise for movements. I applied some front tilt here.

Crown Graphic, APO Symmar 120/5.6, HP5+

Thanks. Bit unsure which photo you are referring to though?

Oh my, that is a horrible work-around. I guess it worked though
Maybe I should post a photo of my old automobile then. It's a bit newer at 'only' 30 years old and is relatively free of 'work-arounds'. Saying that I do keep a wrench in the back seat pocket in case the starter solenoid gets stuck

Nice collection! Interesting that the Intel reference guide crept in to the photo too.
