Would be really meta if you actually used those chemicals in the picture...but then again, probably wouldn't turn out very well.
I wouldn't open the cans. But that bottle of Microdal-X looks more doable.

Based on the bokeh/depth of field, I'm guessing this is a 55mm. I think I was using an S-M-C Tak 55/1.8 early on the roll before the weather got bad and I switched to the Chinon, but I can't be sure.

I've taken so many shots of this sculpture since it first went up, but never one that I was happy with. It wasn't until the giant cat's cradle was (temporarily) added that I finally figured out a way to shoot it that worked.

Spotmatic II.

When all you need is half a frame

A little playing with the Dial 35 and some TMAX 100. Commercial scans.
The 6Mp resolution gets everything out of the film here, I think, because of the smaller size.

But this thing will not win any prizes for lens sharpness or focus accuracy. Still, it's fun and does the job.

I compared the Nikon AIS 35mm f2 to my Takumar 35mm f2 on my K10 ages ago using the ‘it almost fits, don’t jiggle it’ technique. Overall image quality was basically the same, with a little color shift, but the Nikon let more light through at any given aperture value. I don’t know if that said more about optics, sample variation, or how the companies did their aperture settings...

So I’d like to see that...

Trying out RPX 25 in sheet film. It came in a box of 25 sheets. When I opened the box in the dark I thought, hey man you ripped me off. No way there are 25 sheets in here. But they are really thin. I had to get a micrometer to measure it. Only 0.0045 inch (0.1143mm) thick! And with only a single "V" for a notch code.

4x5 Crown Graphic, Symmar 120/5.6, RPX 25, Rodinal 1+50

That's one of those devilish machines that uses reverse Polish logic, isn't it? We had a HP machine at school back in '74 and it was the first calculator I'd ever seen.

Didn't they cost around 200 dollars back then? That could be the equivalent of a top of the range iPhone today.

Yeah, a RPN calculator. I thought all calculators would be that way eventually. It's so much faster once you get use to it at the time.

That's about right. They were expensive. You could get a Texas Instrument TI-51 for something like $25 bucks, IIRC.
