I know, right. I was excited to see it pull up.
This car was actually a stretch limousine. The driver kindly stood and waited out of frame while I fussed about with focus and framing etc and took the shot.

That brickwork on the street really adds to the old-time feel.

Vienna, 1986. Pentax Super A, smc Pentax-M 1:2.8 100mm (most likely), Agfapan 25/Promicrol 1+3 developer.
Negatives copied using Pentax K-1 with smc Pentax-D FA 50mm Macro. The truck must have been about 30 years old at the time.

I've developed another experimental roll of IR with a near-opaque IR filter and Rollei 400S. Some surreal results. I'll post a couple more as I go through them.

Retina IIIC
Rollei 400S
R720 Filter

MX - Arista 400

I shoot a lot of test films to check out cameras in my collection, either new ones or one I haven't used in a while before trusting it. In recent years I've used Ilford films almost exclusively, instead of Kodak that I used decades ago. This is largely because I find Kodak films (esp TriX) tend to curl so much it affects the scan sharpness on my glassless Epson V700 carriers, while Ilford tends to lie flatter after drying, while I would weight TriX under books for a few days to get good results.
However, since these test rolls are just "tests" and not for show, the cost of film in my retirement years is a bit of an issue. So when I noticed how much cheaper Freestyle's Arista films are I decided to try a bulk roll of their 400 speed. (Which seems to be Fomopan film.) After trying a few loads I'm quite impressed, especially for the price. I find the 400 speed does better when shot at 320 EI and processed normally. I've used both DD-X and Rodinal, and while DD-X minimizes grain, I like the tonality (and cost!) in Rodinal.
What I really like is that the film lies totally flat immediately after drying. So I can batch scan a roll within an hour of starting processing.
This is shot at 320 and developed in Rodinal 1+25, 4m 20s @ 73F. Just a default scan on an Epson V850, Epson scan, no adjustments except downsizing:

Yeah, that's generally a good idea for Fomapan. The development curves from Foma's data sheet suggest that it's a 320ASA film in Microphen, and somewhere between a 320 and a 250 in anything else.

another film that dries flat as a board are the Ultrafine films. When I hang Ultrafine 100 to dry, I don't need to weight the bottom. They've recently increased the cost of their 100ft bulk rolls to $40 roll, but I used to get it for as low as $30 a roll. The 100 speed is a pretty good film. The 400 is grainy for my tastes.

This image has a story. I found a few cut film strips out of their archive sleeve behind some junk. They were dirty and scratched. I rewashed them and that helped a lot plus cropping to 7:5 cut out some scratches at edge of the image. It looks like I was trying to catch some lightning bolts back in 2014 on top of Mt. Pilchuck, WA. This had the most exposure of the few and the smallest lightning bolt but still a real thin negative. I guessing it was my 55mm.

EDIT: Here is a picture of what it looks like in the day from another trip there. The above pictures was taken from where you see the guy in the middle ground.

I have been needing to get back down to that section of coast. It is a treasure trove of good things.
