Shot these as part of the travelling K1000 that's going on. I'd never shot a K1000 before, and after using it I have to say I prefer the other K-series cameras. The always on meter & lack of self-timer would be my main complaints.

Yep and they usually cost more than a KX, which is a way better camera and still fully manual.

Thanks for the explanation of the formats, that makes sense.
My other half is about allergic to most things and If I started into developing, well she'd go nuts and it wouldn't be fair. I can be content with a K-1ii, even though winding on is somewhat therapeutic.
For what it's worth, I'm allergic to many things and I still develop my own film. As stated in the developer instructions from Ilford, "development chemicals are not dangerous when handled correctly". I've never had a problem. Allergies or not, many of the chemicals are harmful if ingested. Wear appropriate clothing, rinse and clean up afterwards and I doubt you'd have any issues.

You could perhaps pay for lab development yet scan yourself to save money.
Also for what it's worth I am allergic to many things and still develop my own film. As is written on the developer packets "film chemicals are not dangerous when handled correctly". Allergies or not you don't want to be ingesting the chemicals or getting them in your eyes. This is easily avoided by wearing appropriate protective clothing and also rinsing and cleaning up properly afterwards. I've never had a problem.

Nice! I love Chevelle's, although 1968-1970 are my favorites. ('70 most of all) That's a '71 or a '72. I can't tell because I can't see the directional light on either front corner of the car. (The tail lights are identical) Gorgeous photo of an awesome car! Nobody makes them that wide anymore!
Thanks. I admit that I don't know much about them. When I see a classic car that's well presented it's really a work of art in it's own right, if you ask me.
Perhaps this photo will help with the identification?

I had a K1000 SE for a few years, bought new at a KMart where I worked with an employee discount, before selling it on to a friend. I found it to be well-made, solid and dependable.

The meter switch is automatic turning off with a lens cap or ERC or in Gbag with cover!

I had a fantastic score at my thrift store for 4€ ... an excellent cosmetic Leica CL with a Summicron C 40/2 plus strap and case. Wow and I had a hard time wrapping my head around this one. The CL body light meter is way off and the rangefinder prism is not visible ... apparently the reflective silver on the prism fakes off.

So, as a first test, I loaded a roll of Fomapan 100 and shot it scaled and approximately for the near MFD image ... home developed in Caffenol CM-RS recipe to see quickly the results of this first outing ...

Very good results for range focusing. That Summicron's suitably tasty, too. I wonder, is it possible to get that rangefinder prism re-mirrored?

Thanks a lot. I am looking into a CLA for this Leica CL ... and I hope that it can be re-silvered and/or a replacement part can be found.

If anyone has any information about a Leica repair shop, I am all ears. And "thanks" in advance ... Cheers, J
