Slowly slowly going through a pile of rolls I took over a few days in June. My notes have really degraded in quality lately, so except for those frames that were clearly shot with a teleconverter I'm frequently stumped as to what camera I took them with, never mind the lens.
Thanks to a half-roll I found in among the shots, I now am certain this was the Canon F-1. Lens is still a mystery on the first shot, though.

Canon F-1.
Fuji Neopan 400 at 1600.
(Probably the last roll of this that I'll ever shoot. )
I think I souped this in HC-110 instead of my usual Rodinal, but even then I'm not sure.

Assuming I'm recognizing the background on this photo correctly, it was taken while I was perched on a railing extending into the lake — a position I had held for several hours. I eventually abandoned it after my legs started cramping & I became worried that I might pitch over headfirst into the water, camera & all.

Unfortunately my bulk loader appears to have started scratching my film. I had replaced the canisters I was loading into in the hopes that the problem was there, but I still had to clone out the same lines on this as the last batch of film from it.

I think the photo would have benefited from a slightly wider angle, thereby getting the entirety of the decorative head, but there wasn't a lot of time for adjusting framing.

Some people celebrating the NBA championships that I took almost a month ago and am only just getting around to going through now. One thing I've noticed is that, with a big enough flash, it doesn't matter whether you're using some consumer-level camera from the '80s — everyone just assumes you've got to be press.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The Metz 45CT4 or a big Sunpak, like the 622 or 544 are really good for this. I have a collection of them. Metz 60CT1, 45CT4 and CT5, Sunpak 622, a couple of Braun F900s. They just seem to accumulate around me for some reason. Mount one to a black camera and don a vest, and folks just assume that you're press.

What no greased poles like Philly did after the Super Bowl win?

Nice Balda shot

I notice that you used ID-11 at 1+2 dilution. What was the reason for that? Just curious as it seems to be an in-between of the common dilutions; ie. between 1+1 and 1+3.
As you may have noticed I commonly use ID-11 however normally at 1+1 and occasionally at stock. I've not yet tried any other dilutions.

Thanks, Goddo. It would've been a wasted shot in colour, anyway!

Ilford ID-11 is my favourite developer, and on 35mm I generally use 1+1: 150ml stock plus 150ml of water But I tend to do a lot more 120 film nowadays, and I like 600ml of soup in the tank, so that's immediately taken my usage up to 300ml stock at 1+1. Now, I can sometimes get two 120 films on the same reel but I've had overlap issues in the past and I only do this if I can shufty the film to the end of the reel before loading the second one. Up to now I've only bought ID-11 in 1 litre packets, so I go through it fairly quickly. I should maybe mix up 5 litres at a time 'cos it's cheaper!

I also do 1+3, and am generally pleased with the results, but we're talking maybe 20-plus minutes dev time here. I thought if I used 1+2 I could save a little time and if I store my ID-11 stock in readily-available 200ml amber bottles, I could make up two litres and decant into ten bottles, each airtight until use. I e-mailed the team at Ilford and they agreed that the dev time is just the mean of that for 1+1 and 1+3. I was told the relationship wasn't quite linear, but was near enough, and it works! The only reason Ilford don't publish other dilutions and times is that it would 'clutter their sheets up' .

I can't see any noticeable difference in highlights, contrast, grain or what-have-you between 1+2 and 1+1, or even 1+3. I've only tried 1+2 with Fomapan 400 Action so far but plan to try it on HP5+ and FP4+ next. I've never tried developing in stock solution yet.

Usually spectators have to say in a observation area. But one of the workers started talking to me about my camera and then let me on the field where the skydivers land. I also shot a few color sheets but they had too much motion blur. I think that guy in the jump suit thought I worked there or something.

Crown Graphic, Symmar 120mm, HP5+

Nice. I can see how that Crown Graphic gets some attention!
Were these hand held as well?

Thanks for the reply Russell. ID-11 is also my favourite developer, although I haven't tried more than 3 different ones so far.
I usually buy the 5L, mix it up and pour into smaller bottles in a similar manner as you.

I haven't shot any really expired film lately, so I decided to change that. Kodak Plus-X, expired in 1974 and exposed at ISO 6 — or the lowest setting on the Program Plus's meter.

Unfortunately there was a lot of water damage to this roll, so not all the frames that I was hoping for turned out. Ah well. That's what happens when you go digging through the expired bins for the oldest B&W films they have.
