I have a weakness for sailing ships, and that looks so cool in b&w.
Thanks, I totally do too!

I think part of it is the alternative processing, another part might be scanning C41 film as a B&W file? All I know is when I was adjusting the levels in the scan preview, the shadows were just faded until I brought them down to this level. There wasn't a ton of information in the highlights either.

More from a series of shots I took of Kentucky barns on Kodak Techpan @ ISO25 processed in Kodak Technidol . . .

I wasn't sure which would be more effective perspective on this particular barn so I shot it in portrait and landscape mode and made traditional prints with each. What do you think?

Both shots are well-framed, I'm partial to the portrait.

Testing a Spotmatic with it's original kit's 50mm f1.4 I got from the original owner, who purchased it in 1967-68.
You can see the story here: A one owner Spotmatic and its story - PentaxForums.com

Kodak BW400CN

Keeping the horizon straight is harder than you think with older cameras.

Thanks,

Landscape for me. More of the scene establishes the context and the barn palings create leadings lines which lead somewhere.

I like the portrait more as the additional foliage on the top gives the barn more of a sense of being hidden/abandoned/lost to the wilds.

Thanks!

I made sepia toned traditional prints with these and I think that gives it that much older look.

Forget that 18mm Super Elmar Asph, I'm using a pancake made from recycled Fuji Quicksnap disposable cameras!

Gizmon Wtulens 17mm f16 + Leica M7 + Kodak Tri-X @ 800 + messed up push developing in DF96

These are the complete images to the edge of the film, no cropping/adjusting/levelling etc.

A photo which matches the seasonal holiday.

Mamiya M645 1000s, 80mm 2.8, Neopan Acros 100 (I have about four rolls left), Ilford LC29, Epson V550. This would have been 1/250 f4 with a yellow filter.

The sculpture is in the grounds of this church. 1/250, f8, no filter.
