I'd be really proud to lace up some nice hubs like that onto my bike.
My road bike is a 20 year old Schwinn.
I'm not a racer, just a fat guy who likes to ride bicycles, but I can blow spokes like a true professional.
I got tired of going on a long ride and spending time at a sag stop spokes put on (I carried spares in the seat tube).
So I had a new wheel built for my Schwinn. Cost a third of what the entire bike had.
But now the rear end has 36 spokes, and I've not popped a spoke since.
As a bonus, the original wheel is now on a Motobecane Mirage "frankenbike"
OK, I finally found a (terrible) film photo of my last wheel...
The bike in the foreground is an "Auto Moto", made in Guatemala, found at a yard sale with rusty steel wheels. Vintage early 1980s. I built the rear wheel with an aluminum rim I had and the original hub.
The bike behind it is my "regular" bike, a flat-bar commuter-style road bike. After doing the new wheel on the Schwinn, I had a new one made for this one, too...
