TEN BUCKS EACH?!?!? That's way too much! I think my last batch of ten (a few months ago) cost me US$40 shipped. But maybe you got the high-quality clones.

Seriously: I have a couple dozen now. The first was a traumatic learning experience. The rest have been trouble-free, EXCEPT for one that I mistreated a bit. Its reward: being glued to a Petri lens, from which I removed the old bayonet base and used contact cement to attach the adapter. Yes, even the bad ones can be redeemed.

I can give one simple reason I bought the Pentax adapter. Well over a thousand dollars worth of Takumar lenses and one bad experience with a generic adapter. To me, the additional $30 was worth it just for the peace of mind. End of story.

CW

P.S. I had to laugh quite some time back when Pentax still had the adapters in stock for about $40. Someone was selling a genuine Pentax adapter on e-bay and the bidding got up around $50. smh
