Wow, K1000 New In Box on Craigslist

Don't see this very often...NIB K1000 with accessories on my local Craigslist. Still, $200? Seems a tad high.

The price is what the market will bear.

Due to the simplicity and value of the K1000 and SP1000/F before it was the recommended basic camera for many photography curriculum. Due to this demand K1000 was still being produce past the M series product life.

After it was finally discontinued at the onset of digital used K1000 commanded a premium price relative to other used 35mm SLRs.

That is a little pricey, but if you want a perfect K-1000 and want to buy locally, it's not totally insane (unlike the Craigslister I saw recently who wanted a cool grand for a bunch of worn out old darkroom equipment). I might even be tempted if it were an Asahi model.

BNIB K1000’s really aren’t that rare, so I always have to roll my eyes a little whenever I see one priced very high because its still in the box. when you coniser how long the K1000 was in production and just how many were actually made, it should be no surprise really that there are still a great number sitting in their boxes unused. looking at the photos above it seems that this particular model is a very late model, for which I’m sure is made in china. I wouldn’t consider it even in that condition worth anywhere near 200 bucks, but as people say: things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them.

Yes most likely the Made in China last version. You can tell by the box.
