Pentax Spotmatic in Olive Green

I have come across a Pentax Spotmatic in an Olive green colour. Does anyone know anything about these as I have not seen one before. It must be rare. If it is, any idea what it is worth. It is in Mint condition. Looks unused and working perfectly even the meter is spot on after all these years.
I would very much like to hear from anybody with information about the olive green Spotmatic.

Never heard of this- maybe it was spray-painted by someone?

I don't think Pentax started making crazy special editions of their cameras until the k-mount era (lx gold, lx titanium, etc).

Ah, right- I did a bit of research figured it out. It was a US army military issue camera, turns out that these were pre-painted for military use at the factory.

Leatherette is replaceable. Is the whole camera green, or just the skin?

Edit: Never mind, the answer went up while I was typing

Hi Adam Well thanks for reply but the odd thing is the photo you just posted is the same photgraph copy of one being posted in the UK on E-bay. The Camera finished earlier unsold and the guy wanted £300 for it. He said he bought that one in Japan. Not from the US millitary surplus store.
My next question how are you posting the same picture as he posted on E-bay.

Apparently google reads minds to answer your second question...but I would never pay 500 bucks for that, that's insane.

As Adam says, that is much more than it is worth. It's a little bit special but not that much.

You are exactly what the seller wants. It's all supply and demand.

indeed, but his price is too high. will see if he's willing to negotiate at all. I am supremely interested, but I'm not crazy and willing to pay more than its worth, thats for sure. I'm not a collector, I want to use that beauty.

No doubt a rare and interesting curiosity for the well-heeled collector.
However the average user will find a standard black or chrome model
serviced by Eric is capable of identical photos for a fraction of the cost.

It looks really good, but not good enough for the price tag in my opinion.
