The difference between MZ-5, MZ-7 and MZ-10?

There's a certain camera store which is allegedly still selling a few of these cameras as new-old-stock. The price for them is the same, 100 each model. What is the difference between these different models and which (if any) is one to desire? I'm not currently a film shooter, but owning several FF-capable K mount lenses, I wonder if I should give it a try.

out of the three the MZ5 is the best, the most suited for advanced photographers, and it is very retro. The MZ10 is to stay clear off. Plastic lens-mount and crippled AF. So you cannot use the aperture ring. The MZ7 is the newest of the bunch. A good camera, but I would personally go for a MZ5

Take a look at their specs here:

I've used the MZ-5 and it's basically like a K1000 but with support for P, Tv, and Av modes

I have the MZ-7 and really like it; metal mount ring, good working, supports old lenses and works fine with the new ones (DAs)
There must be some slight differences with the MZ5 but I do not think those are too big.

Steer away from the 10 as that one does not support old lenses and has a plastic lens mount

Like MZ-5 and 7, 10 has an unclippled lens mount. It's just more plasticky. All 3 have plastic gear on the mirror motor shaft and are prone to break. I would say that MZ-5N and 6 are better cameras.

Why not go for a Z-1P instead. Top of the line

I still have my MZ-5 andf my MZ-5n, great cameras, bought each as they were released, both still going strong after all these years. as Adam says, like a K1000 but with auto modes, AF always spot on, great light metering.

I also loved the "pano" mode, being able to compose a widescreen shot with the closed pano screens was a great feature. I wish these modern DSLRs had that feature.

There is some misinformation in the earlier replies regarding the ZX-10/MZ-10. It has the UN-crippled KAF2 mount, and it does fully support all K mount lenses. I used a ZX-10 recently with a Zenitar fisheye and it worked perfectly. If I remember right this was in Av mode with +1 EV.

Yes I agree the 5 is better, but owning both, I do use and enjoy the 10 as well; it's a capable camera whose controls I find to be laid out in a friendly way.

-- edit -- I see Violini already made the correction about the lens mount.
