Please add me to the list.
Sounds good Paul! I want to run a couple more rolls through the MX and should be done by the end of the month. I'll send it off to you then.

Thanks, Phil.

Perfect! My cataract surgery should have healed by then - maybe I can shoot right-eye!

Some more shots with the traveling MX. Ilford SFX 200 with red filter.

The MX is now off to St. Louis.

I'm game. I've been wanting to buy an MX for some time, it would be nice to try one out before I take the plunge. How does this work, do you PM me when your ready to send it on and I send you my address? Thanks.

That's exactly right. I should get it in a day or two and I'll probably keep it two weeks or so, then PM you.

Cool shots Phil! Do you find that you primarily use red filters, or do you switch between yellow/orange/red depending on the conditions? I was thinking about trying some B&W and having DR5 process them, so was wondering what filter would be useful.

(I have 3 MXs, photographic type, so I'll pass on the scheme but I do think it's cool, as is the travelling screwmount.)

For the Ilford SFX, IR or Red filters work best. For regular b&w I like orange filters. DR5 Chrome is a good choice and you can get most b&w negative film processed as a positive.

@Phil - I'm not seeing your shots with the MX. Any chance you could include a direct link?

Best,
Kevin

Phil, thanks for the links. (Of course, the photos in your original post are now appearing <g>). Testament to the reliability of the internet that my first thought was that it was a software glitch rather than the possibility that a server might be down. Looking forward to taking a closer look at your shots.

Best,
Kevin

Nice shots with the MX, Phil. What's your "take" on the camera? I got a super deal on an MX with a winder, a raft of lenses and filters about a year ago off CraigsList, but the camera needs some work that time and budget haven't permitted. (Also have a ton of other film bodies I can shoot when the mood strikes, so repairing the MX hasn't been a real priority). Curious about your impressions and hoping they might inspire me to send my MX off to Eric.

Best,
Kevin
