Traveling K-mount

Hi,

This thread is a K-mount version of the Sightseeing Screwmount. Essentially, anyone interested in trying out a MX with a 50/1.7 (which I'll provide) join up on a list. Each person shoots some rolls and posts some photos in this thread, then sends the camera on to the next person on the list. Geographically, this will be limited to North America.

If you haven't had a chance to shoot with an MX before, why not give it a try? It's a small body with a HUGE viewfinder, and all mechanical operation with a very accurate built in meter. I've had lots of fun using it, and just thought it'd be cool to share the experience.

Hi Phil, thanks for your interest. If you could please PM me with a shipping address, I'll send the MX out in the next few days.

This is a great idea... Unfortunately I'm on the wrong continent to take part but look forward to seeing some of the shots!!

You could change the format slightly and send the camera with the film you shot inside the MX for the next person to develop... That person would then choose and post the best 3 shots from the previous user, put a new film in, shoot it and send it with the camera for the next person to develop...

Just an idea... Feel free to absolutely ignore... just thought it would be fun...

Given all the K-mount variations, how about calling this the "Mobile MX"? Great idea, and I'll watch with interest and maybe get inspired enough to try out the MX I picked up recently.

Dave: that's a pretty neat idea! For this first round I might not have time between now and when I send the MX on to gofour3. If future participants would like to forward their shots, no naughty surprises for the next person!

Baro-nite: I like the sound of "Mobile MX". I can't seem to figure out how to edit the thread title...?

Here are some shots from a recent roll with the MX (Provia 100f):

I received the MX and M50/1.7 today.

Who is up next after I'm finished? It would be a shame if it only made one stop on its tour!

The Migrating MX

I will serve as keeper of the list to get this started.
gofour3 - completed
monochrome - in transit
average-guy - next up
SteveM - (we ought to keep it in Canada for a few rounds once it has crossed the border)

I like the 'Mobile MX' thing. It's probably a bad idea for me to try and participate just now,: I'm just not up to much, but maybe later on if there's interest. I think a lot of the old film salts may find these very familiar: Myself, I always liked one, but haven't picked one up in *koff* some years.

The "Traveling MX's" first outing at UBC in Vancouver. I was testing a new lens, so I’m saving the M50/1.7 for the next outing.

MX with M24-50/4 zoom, Fuji Sensia 100, lab processed and home scans.

You mean like the proposed mobile MX missile system?
Old guys like me remember it.
Think 10,000+ Hiroshimas.
Still think it's a good name?

Chris

Sounds like a real blast to me.

(I have 3 MXs, photographic type, so I'll pass on the scheme but I do think it's cool, as is the travelling screwmount.)
