Does anyone know what happened to the MX? I sent a PM to Monochrome a few days ago and have yet to get a response.

Hmm, I'll send a PM to Monochrome as well and try to get this thing moving. Thanks for being patient, guys.
Thanks for the prompt. The MX is out for pickup by the USPS Friday.

Hi,

This thread is a K-mount version of the Sightseeing Screwmount. Essentially, anyone interested in trying out a MX with a 50/1.7 (which I'll provide) join up on a list. Each person shoots some rolls and posts some photos in this thread, then sends the camera on to the next person on the list. Geographically, this will be limited to North America.

If you haven't had a chance to shoot with an MX before, why not give it a try? It's a small body with a HUGE viewfinder, and all mechanical operation with a very accurate built in meter. I've had lots of fun using it, and just thought it'd be cool to share the experience.
Always wanted to try out an MX, any chance I can still get in on this round?

That's great, thanks! Hope no one minds I'll be shooting B&W, home processing, wet printing, and posting scans via an old Canon flatbed scanner.

Cheers!

This last week was busier than expected, I got the shooting done, I have yet to develop the film and post the pic's. In the meantime I want to keep the MX moving. I think SteveM might be next, is this correct? If not let me know.

Looks correct to me, SteveM should be next on the list!

I just took a very enjoyable trip through your portfolio, excellent work! Having been out of the game for the past 30 years, I find myself somewhat intimidated by following you up on this project , but it's the challenge I need to continue improving!

Cheers!

Thanks for the comments Griz! I can't guarantee I'll get any good shots from an outing with the travelling MX but it'll be fun and that's what it's all about

Just a friendly reminder to everyone to not use UPS / Fedex etc when shipping out of country. UPS is holding the camera because they want an additional $60.62 for a "Brokerage" paperwork fees. I've also had a problem with UPS damaging items during shipment whereas I have never had a problem with USPS, nor do they have any additional "fees".

At least UPS is consistent with a 100% failure rate so far for my shipments!

I've contacted average-guy to see if he can call them so they will drop the fee since I am borrowing the camera and did not buy it.

I sent SteveM a PM to see if we can get the brokerage charges reversed. I usually ship US postal service, but I mistakenly thought that since it was crossing borders, I thought an independent shipper like ups or fedex would have been better, looks like I was wrong.

SteveM, I'm aware that UPS is pretty hard on pakages, I paid extra to have it packed in an oversized, double walled box filled with packing peanuts (I placed the camera in a 1 gallon ZipLoc freezer bag with all the air removed). If It didn't arrive that way let me know I will be happy to express my growing displeasure to the young man at the UPS store.
