how many frames can i get from 36 roll with Z-1p?

Like the title says. Last roll i shot it stopped advancing after 36. but when i had it rewound (with the option of leaving the tail partially out) it left a really long tail that was even still wound around the right post.

I believe I have always gotten 37 off a normal roll. The long tail is normal. YMMV

It's been a while but I seem to recall 38-39 is typical when I shot film

I don't think 39 is possible with that long a tail the z1-p is leaving. I'm gonna set it to rewind completely, lets see if they will shoot the first early frames too.
