It really doesn't - even with the implied offer of a better than OE part for a camera I'm too tight-fisted to buy

Nice ZX10R too. Never been a 'biker' - never likely to get one, but that's a nice, mean, green machine you have there

and 'Cyclepathic' . . . . very amusing . . . . . . . sorry for googling, but you design and manufacture spare parts and you have a green motorbike in your avatar-thingy . . . how cool is that? . . . and a 'girl' too (have I overstepped the mark now?)

Back on topic though - it's really nice to see someone make something to replace a missing or broken part. This type of approach is my preffered option when things stop working or just drop off, but I'm somewhat limited by talent . . . . or the lack thereof
LOL!!!! Don't google too much! You're bound to find a few skeletons out there!

I have two main passions in life - Motorcycles and Photography. Sometimes I merge the two. All the metal working stuff I got into - less than 2 years now - was in response to making parts for my bikes and camera stuff.

Well, I was able to get a source in Japan to get me a few! Now I have 4 spares!

Sad when I have to use channels outside of Pentax to get Pentax gear.

Thanks for the offer. However, the Mk3 cap is way harder to make than buying them from Japan. As of now, there are only two MZ-S cameras on the planet that have a custom cap. Mine and Sunny16.

Besides, it's too hot in Florida (June/July/August) for me to work in my garage and make another on my manual lathe and mill machine.

When it gets cooler, I will make more projects. In the summer, in Florida, we tend to stay inside the Air Conditioning.

Source for MZ-S spare parts ?

Hello LaurenOE ;

Sorry for replying to a very old thread, but this is the beauty of looking for something very specific on Internet. It happens that I am now also on the hunt for the same plug cover for my MZ-S. Could you share the source you have been able to find these in Japan ?

Kind regards,
Christopher.

Buy a dead zx series body (Which there are plenty thanks to the gear failures) and steal the parts from it. You should be able to find an as-is one that still has the cap.

The MZ-S has a different cap. It’s its own animal...

Oops yeah I see that now, the other ones have a non-round cap...guess you could sugru a cap. Im sure even a dead MZ-S would cost a fortune

Sorry to revive a very old thread... anyone know where I could get a replacement cap? My new-to-me MZ-S doesn't have one. Thanks, Kris.
