Now it's just a question of whether you're picking up a black or chrome body . . .

That is a nice case Steve.
Thanks. I wish Zhou would broaden his lineup a bit to include vintage SLRs as well as higher end rangefinder cams.

+1 for the MX, to make it even better, put in the MZ-50 focus screen.

Mine just got back from Eric today...what a nice handling camera. The only thing that would make it better is if I could get something like the Zhou case I have for my Canon P with nicely placed finger nubs. (See it here)

Steve
I wouldn't mind having that case for my E-P1. Although it works fine, I need to send my black SV out to Eric for a cla for posterity's sake.

You could always put in a request. His line reflects his own camera interests as well as suggestions from users.

I have several Ricoh cameras but I would not say the K-mount models are constructed to the same standard as a Pentax LX or MX.
Eric has told me much the same thing, and my experience using both brands bears this out.
That said Ricoh made good cameras with some very nice features.

My first adjustable lens camera was a Ricoh 500G rangefinder.
Before I came to Pentax I used various Ricoh XR series SLRs.

I have two MX's, as well as the slightly smaller size you also get full finder info (aperture & shutter speed) and it will take a winder. However, the MX feels a bit delicate to me (maybe it's the small size perhaps), but it doesn't feel as 'tank-like' as a Japanese made K1000 (maybe that's a good thing).

Is this a) really worth doing? and b) an easy job?

I should have an MX by lunchtime... and an MZ-50 can be picked up for 5 quid!!
