Mirageflex SLR = ?

Bonjour,

My post may be in the wrong place, but here goes away ...

I just picked up a "Mirageflex 1000 S" SLR in good shape and have tried to find out more about it ... I may have it revised along with a K1000 that I bought a few months ago.

From the net, a used dealer stated that this is a re-badged, export version of Mamiya NC 1000. Has anyone any knowledge and/or experience here?

Here's a few photos which may help ...

Thanks for any insights ... Merci d'avance! Salut, John le Frog

Not a Mamiya NC 1000:

Mamiya NC1000 35mm cameras

The film type reminder around the rewind is very similar to the one on my Ricoh Singlex TLS, though your camera does not look like any Ricoh I have ever seen. The meter switch on the right hand side and round eyepiece are also sort of unusual.

...Found it! Chinon (also marketed as GAF) L-CS or L-CM.

That leatherette patch on the front of the pentaprism cover makes it look like a poor man's Leicaflex SL.
Maybe it's there to cover the real manufacturer's name?

Chris

Thanks a lot ... I'll search this more tomorrow, 'cause it's almost midnight here!

Here's the dealer link that I found previously ... just FYI only. LeicaShop Vintage Cameras | Japanese Equipment | 35mm SLR Cameras | Mirageflex 1000S | english

Salut et merci encore, J Frog
