Hello everyone!

I came across this magazine in one of my grandpa's wardrobes. He used to take pictures and films on vacations, and still has some of his gear (Zenit (came with a Helios 44 ), Yashica etc.). I've taken some pictures of certain pages that might interest people here.

Here's the link, the pictures are 12mp so I didn't post here. _DSC2435 - Minus

There is also a price guide at the end, lots of ads and articles (brief history of photography, studio lighting technique...)

Maybe we could post this over at the Italian forum?

Asahi Pentax Spotmatic II with 50mm 1.4 = L. 170 000
Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SP 500 with Super Takumar 55mm 2 = L. 120 000
APS SPF Says it's a Spotmatic II with TTL metering, price not listed.

Just want to point out the commercial for Super-Multi-Coated lenses in the third picture, with the woman. The pictures are examples of what would happen if a picture was taken with the flare-resistant SMC lens VS a non-coated lens. FUNNY HOW BULDINGS CAN MOVE, EH?!?!

what a bragging fail...

well 170,000 Lire of 1974, in 2012, depending on how you calculate, range between about 1050 € (using a revaluation table) and 1.500 € making a proportion with, for instance, a Topolino (Micky Mouse) weekly magazine, wich cover price in the same months was 250 Lire.

I would say that the SPII + 1:1.4/50 would be somewhere in between there.

The SP 500 + 1:2/50 is somewhere between 670 € and about 1.100 €.

I really wouldn't know which amount is more correct, because anyway the euro value has taken bumps since the start, so possibly you needed less money than today to buy the same range of cameras?
