I would like to know the distance in mm from the lens mount flange back to the aperture diaphragm in the Pentax auto 110 body.
It seems to come out to about 26mm from film plane to mount face.

Mystery,
Yes the register of 110 lenses is 27mm (sensor/film surface to lens flange).
As I don't have a 110 body I was needing the distance the aperture diaphragm is back from the lens flange.

Oops... I read that, but got caught up with the locking the shutter open to double check something else...Well, I've tried to measure it as best I could... here are some numbers

3.6mm from mount face to rear most of lens.
4.0mm from mount face to shutter block face
4.2mm from mount face to blade of aperture.
.6mm from aperture blade to rear most surface of lens flange or the gap between the lens and aperture.

Thanks very much Mystery, that is exactly what I needed.
The M43 sensor size is almost same as the 110 film (13 by 17 mm) . The light has to bend at quite an angle to get to the corners.
The Pentax-110 18mm is a good all purpose lens on M43 but blurred corners wide open at infinity focus
I will make a metal waterhouse stop at f/4 or so and position it according to the dimensions and see if it sharpens up.

4/3rds sensor?
Isn't that 13.?X18.?mm so it is bigger?
The challenge is if the stopping-down will work outside the optimal point within the group?
...Not important, do throw up some results somewhere... it sounds interesting.

MysteryOnion: +1 on the dimensions for the Pentax-110 body and lenses
I made a sketch of them for my own use and put them here in case anyone as crazy as me wants to make a Pentax-110 to M43 adaptor:
https://www.box.com/s/b9319930073aad14e911

Then I moved the waterhouse stop to the correct position -actually about 0.1 mm to the sensor side of MysteryOnion's measurement, the first one I made is not quite right. The stop is machined of brass with a 4.5 mm hole for f/4 on the Pentax-110 18 mm lens, and has a blade thickness of about 0.2 mm and is coated with Krylon UltraFlat.

It made a big difference to the edge sharpness
Here is an image without the stop, which is also similar to having the stop in the incorrect position:
https://www.box.com/s/19814d0770789469cba8

With the f/4 waterhouse stop in almost the correct position in the adaptor:
https://www.box.com/s/f7b4205014069b6b453a
There is still some blur out in the corners but the stop made a big improvement.

Actually with these small M43 sensors having un-natural wide DOF, "I feel" a bit of corner softness is more natural.

I've so far done an Xtol 7:30 min at 68 degrees and over agitated 5 seconds and so next time 3 seconds... not bad even then.

If you have a good 25mm will help with the enlarging to 5x7-ish easily, if you have a good tall column, a 50mm will make a decent 4x6".

Thanks guys,
I am undecided whether to get a Auto-110 body now that i have a set of Pentax-110 lenses for M43. The 18mm lens is a good one on M43.
I currently have a Zeiss Ikon Nettar with a 10.5 cm being refurbished by Mark Hanson. That is the other side of the scale producing 8 of the huge 90mm by 60mm negs per roll. These negs easy to work with in glass holders and a 90mm Rogonar enlarger lens puts bright images to focus on the paper.

The Pentax 110 body is fun. When film was more plentifull used my two more often. Have been using the 18, 24, and 50 lenses on the Pentax Q. Also need to get a m43 adapter for the Olympus.
thanks

Lomography has a new(?) 110 color film and B&H carries it, but I can't offer any kind of feedback.

I must admit that the availability of 110 film once again has rekindled my interest in getting an Auto 110. When I was a teenager my girlfriend had a complete set. She sold it to buy a 35mm SLR.
