Fujichrome Velvia 100F (all sizes) and Velvia 50 4"×5" discontinued

I posted this in an older thread of the same subject, but it seems to be dead (no-one visited it since my post).

As I couldn't find this information elsewhere in the forum, I am just quoting my own post in a new thread here.

The news ticker of heise Foto (of the German scientific/technical publishing house Heise), wrote on July 20th, that Fujifilm Professional has announced some of its slide films will be discontinued.

They say the discontinued films are Fujichrome Velvia 100F as 135, 120 and bigger formats, and Velvia 50 as 4"×5". For Germany, they think the last charges may be delivered in December 2012.

On request Fujifilm Germany confirmed Velvia 50 will stay in production in 135 and 120 format.

Yes it seems Fuji is following Kodak and removing some of its slide film. They better not touch Provia 400x!
