I guess this means another bulk order from B&H is in order.

If I had a penny for all the doomsday predictions I'd be a millionaire by now.
Of course using film is still the best option so I don't worry about it.

Very sad news indeed. Kodak is a pioneer of photography, both film and digital and a great company.

As a film user since the early 1950s, I also hate to see Kodak exit the film business. Back in the 50s the convenient choice for film in the US was either Kodak or Ansco. Ansco, of course, is long gone, as are many other film companies. But there are still other choices, and probably will be for at least B&W film for a long time. Ilford films are now made in facilities optimized for small production batches, so should be viable as long as "hobbiests" keep buying. I have a roll of Ilford in my camera now. Other films (Agfa, etc) still have famous names, but are now made by others who just bought the names for marketing reasons. Fuji color films are quite usable, and perhaps they will keep their popular ones for a while.
The Kodak name and film stocks do have value, and hopefully may be purchased by someone outside Wall Street who can use the value in a structure to make a continuing business. Perhaps they can also re-scale the production faciliites to allow smaller batch production.
