Pentax MX question.

When I change the shutterspeed on the camera, it doesn't sync in the center like the pictures below. I just tried moving it and it doesn't sync with the shutterspeed dial, when I am on 125s, it shows 1000s through the viewfinder. How do I correct this?

I have heard those who sell refurbished MXs refer to the view of the speed shown in the finder as 'centered'. I could be wrong, but I think this is a mechanical adjustment.

That happened to me with one of my K2DMD’s. Eric fixed it when he did the CLA but the shutter dial and viewfinder are not synced again. The camera still meters correctly, you just have to take into account of the dials not matching. It’s a bit confusing so I use “automatic” on the K2DMD and don’t have to worry about the dials.

However I would send your MX to Eric, he can fix the issue.

Phil.

there is a thread inside the camera connecting the dial and the wheel .. somehow in the past of your camera.. its got cutted. then somebody open it up and fix it, but since it got cut out the thread doesnt have same lenght anymore.. hence the dial wont get sync with the rotating wheel inside.

there is no replacement sparepart for that thread available now i think.

.

if u want to buy a pentax MX you can use this case as an indicator wheter somebody ever have open ur camera or not.

and sorry for my english. haha
