Everything from daily use to those bodies that come out once a year to "see if they still work" counts. Do post pictures of the cameras if you have any
Unlike some other Forum members, I'm not much of a collector. I usually sell the unused gear to finance the stuff I need (or think I need
). Right now I have:
Pentax LX (w/ FA-1 finder): I still use it on occasion (maybe 6 times a year) for shooting slides. Very well made and reasonably small and light. Great for travel and landscape use with some small Pentax fixed focal length lenses. This is about as close as I'll get to Leica-level quality with a quiet and compact SLR outfit. Some back-lighted scenes can fool the meter, but otherwise it works splendidly. The kit includes 5 Pentax prime lenses from 20mm to 200mm and a hotshoe flash.
Pentax SF-10: This is actually my wife's camera. She hasn't used it in several years but she won't part with it. I exercise the camera about 3-4 times a year and it works fine. The kit includes 3 Pentax F lenses from 28mm to 200mm, and it can share lenses and the flash with the LX kit.
Nikon D80: I use this camera for family shots, sports/action use, and some travel, landscape and other general use. The kit includes 3 Nikkor "pro" zooms (covering 12mm to 200mm), a 105mm "Micro-Nikkor" macro/telephoto prime, the Nikon 1.4X tele-converter (matched to the 70-200mm f2.8 VR zoom and the 105mm VR Micro) and a hotshoe flash. A big, heavy, and expensive kit but it does it all.
I also have a Gitzo Basalt tripod with a Kirk BH-3 ball head (and a bunch of Kirk plates for everything) and a Bogen 3001 tripod with a Manfrotto 410 geared heard (for telescope and macro use). I have split ND filters and polarizers for most lenses, and I use the split ND a lot.
I
almost sold part of the LX kit but decided that I want to keep it and use it on occasion.
