DA 300 with pz1

For those of you that own both.
Does the da300 quick-shift focus work on the pz1??

Mine does not work.
Autofocus works fine but without quickshift, it makes it very difficult to shoot little hopping birds in trees.

There is no sense having this camera if I can not use the da 300 on it effectively. Rattzzz!!

I'm surprised the quick-shift doesn't work as I though it was a lens-based mechanism only. Ah well - either way, the DA300 still works on it doesn't it? If you need to over ride AF just switch the lens to MF. (I am guessing the AF button on the PZ1 is on the shutter only, so if you used quick shift to manually adjust the focus, the camera would re-autofocus back to where it was when you press the shutter button anyway!)

Yeah, I was surprised too. It works intermittently about 10 percent of the time.
If it worked I could use focus lock with the shutter button then use quick shift. It is a lot quicker then switching lens to manual focus.

BTW it works fine on my k10d and kx.

Anyway you are right I should be content that I can use the da 300 on the pz1 !!
