Yep !

if you want to do some pixel peeping i can give you acces to a 4800dpi scan of the picture in JPEG or TIFF (tiff are around 55Mo, JPEG are 20/25Mo)

i'm sending it to a server, i will PM you the link once done.

I did scan with no change in curve, sat, exposure, sharpness, etc ...

I opened the TIFF file in Camera Raw and only applied a 25 in noise reduction (as you will see, the sky is so blue that the scanner did produce some noise in it in the magenta channel. I guess it's easy to remove but if i want to print this i will take the neg file and not the digital one )

the scanner use the SilverFast software that allow so many processing of many kind and it's a quality processing. Combine that with a good RAW software and you'll be able to revive so many film picture.

The maximum dpi availlable is 9600 but it produce files that are way to heavy.
Now i do all my scann @2400 and if someone want a print, depending on the size i re-scann the neg.

Remember that each time you double the dpi value, the time for scanning increase likely by a factor of 2.

i'm waiting for chemical in my mailbox in order to process my first 120 film, and i guess this will take a lot of time to scann

I found this thread whilst searching after buying a Super A on ebay a couple of days ago. It should be with me tomorrow

I don't have either variant of the DA40 but I do have the 21/3.2 and the 35/2.4. It'll be fun trying those, but now you got me thinking that a pancake 40 on a slim film body would be just perfect for me (and so the LBA continues!)

Question for Obscura though if he doesn't mind: Where did you get that thin leather strap? It's exactly what I'd like on my film bodies!

AFAIR, the 21/3.2 will show a vignetting ring.

it was on the camera when i got it...
AFAIK you can find nos pentax straps or used in good condition...
just search ebay for "asahi strap"
there are 2 kinds, a nylon one, and the leather(not real leather though)... usually they come with the shoulder pad, i dont have it...

and now i will show you something that will change your mind about the asahi strap...

the shutter release button is a cam-in i think... and the same company produces straps just like these two...
these straps are mostly sold for rangefinder cameras... so if you search ebay for, lets say, "leica strap" you'll find a ton of them...

oh and something you owe to do to your super A or any other old camera you guys buy...
check the light seals and change if nesessary...
its easy peasy japanesey, and you can get precut foam as well, you can tell if it needs to be changed if its like tar and sticky... or comes out in pieces everytime you take a shot (that'll be the mirror foam)

To bring this thread BOT (back on topic): With a DA lens on a Program A/Super A you have no way of setting the aperture, right? Do you have any idea at all what aperture the camera sets?

There is no direct way but I adjust the shutter speed till I get required aperture, so not difficult either.

yes you have an idea, in the viewfinder there is an lcd that shows the speed and the aperture ;-)
so, you set it to manual, and because the lens is in the A position its like having Tv mode... set the speed, and you can see the aperture change...
