In case you were wondering (not mine, saw it on ebay)

I wonder whether the camera was used in the military. The yellow paint is exactly the same colour as on an ex-military medium format that I have (although I've removed the paint.) Another clue is the stamped letters.

The military wouldn't they have painted the whole camera leather though? Why only one side?

Curious, was the paint simply to prominently mark it as government property, as opposed to personal property? And wouldn't yellow possibly stand out too much on the battlefield?

Perhaps the previous owner had Holga-envy?

It's really weird how that SP looks so 'right' in the purple! ( . . . . or is it just me?)

Local Community College?
Hard to believe that anyone would take a hammer to a camera that way though.

Here's my MX. I replaced the awful leatherette with some hand-finished kid leather from Morgan Sparks.

It still looks like she's been around the block a couple of times , but the blue freshens the MX up very nicely

When I decided on a used K-x for my first DSLR I knew I had to have one in color... orange was my first choice.

(Image taken with my so-so Panasonic P&S and processed in LR4. I really need something like the new MX-1.)

I think you may have camera envy because that's a nice photo, particularly from a P&S.

This one reminds me of the nicely anodized Alpa (10d?) models from the late 1960s. They were available in gold, green, a sort of magenta, and I do believe...blue.

Steve

(...would love to have an Alpa...)
