SCORED! Pentax ME Super and Lenses.

Saw an ad in the paper for a Pentax ME Super, for $95 bucks. That's Aussie bucks.

It's now mine.

Came with an M f1.7 50mm, a Haminex 28mm f2.8, and a Haminex 75-200mm one-touch zoom. All the lenses are pretty much mint, and fungus free.

Been lusting after an ME Super for ages, probably my most sought-after Pentax SLR. I've used an ME for a while, until the winder jammed, and now I've got its big brother. Even came with the instruction books et al, and a service receipt from 7 years ago!

It also brings my sub-f2.0 50mm Pentax collection up to 4. None of them are the same (well, now with the 1.7, there's two that are the same optically.)

Think it's time to sell the Ricoh.

I broke me ME, stupid of me, so this time I'm gonna be careful with winding.

Or, better yet, am gonna pick up a Winder ME if I can.

Note: Chicks dig the ME with the M f1.2 50mm on it.

Congrats on the catch. Still a great old camera. Did you say 50m f1.2?? or was that 1:2? I know there's a K mount version but not aware of an M version.

Sorry, you're right, I meant the K 1.2. Get 'em mixed up sometimes.

Yes, Mr. Lightgulper. I've been walking around with it for the past few weeks, then today decided to put the A f1.7 on there. For the first hour or so I had to keep checking to see if I'd actually put a lens on there...

The 1.2's in bad nick, though. Fungus, and when I got it, it'd been dropped and had a UV filter jammed on and cross-threaded on the filter ring. And it's loose. All over.

Need it serviced. But it still takes great pictures, and only cost me $25.

Nice catch, great camera!
Make sure you change the light seals... those become gunk
Jon Goodman Seals rock!

I changed the seals in mine (and mirror bumper) and burnt a roll of Foma400 in my daughter's B-Day
Nice results

PS. Keep the Ricoh as a backup

Thanks! Took it out for a roll of Tri-X today. Used the 50mm, the 28mm, the zoom a little, and my favourite long lens, the K 3.5 135mm.

Down at the river, got complimented by an Arizonian ex-pat on the ME.

Gonna have a quick break, then dev and scan the negs.
