Shutter delay

Just joined and was wondering if anyone has encountered this prob with the *ist film camera. When I use it in AF it focuses in fine (green signal/beep etc) but when press the shutter fully it wont fire the shutter for at least 2seconds. Seems to work fine in manual through. I do like the cameras compact and unique design (has the usual stiff wheel on the top)

Any help or pointers would be appreciated

I don't know about the *ist film , But I had that problem with the *istDL. After finding focus When I press the shutter to take the shot it waited. I found that it was doing it mostly in lower light situations. Turned out it was losing focus and refocusing. It only did it in AF never MF. I haven't had that happen since I moved focus to another button. It sounds as if your camera is losing its focus and refocusing

Dont know if that CAM has the 2 sec mirror up function, as later cams? But that could be the issue.
Try look for that an disable it.
