Pentax manuals now (?) online.

A brief search for the user manual for an older Pentax camera pointed me to PENTAX MANUALS, which is a great resource. Then I went here:

Downloads & Literature - PENTAX Imaging USA

I just downloaded the official manual for a Spotmatic from the Pentax website.

Did I miss this resource before? Or perhaps this is a sign that Pentax/Ricoh is actually reaching out to Pentaxians? If so, I think that's newsworthy.

I know that new DSLR manuals were always available online, but I'm not sure about the SLRs. If this is new, its great to see that Pentax is reviving its SLR resources.

They've had manuals online for a long time, but I don't think they always had models going all the way back to the screwmount era. Without actually being able to prove it, it does seem like they've expanded their repertoire of available downloads recently.

They did have the manuals dating back to the S1, BUT the scan really sucked
Kin Coxon (Pentax-manuals), Paul Provencher (whitemetal) and Butkus offered better quality

Most of the film camera manuals have been available from Pentax for some times, but the copies at Butkus are much higher quality.

The Pentax Canada site has had a very long listing of old manuals for years on their site. A little buried but they are there

IMHO Kim Coxon's are the best scans. I found them in 2004. I think he is still scanning the occasional accessory manual but the supply of clean copies is getting pretty thin.
