More auction scores. The justification is that you can spend a large amount of money if that large amount of money was made up of things you acquired for a bargain price.

First, Nikon F801s. Prosumer creme-de-la-creme 25 years ago, with a cracking 1/8000s top shutter speed, 20 (not with that lens though). My heart will always be with Pentax but I can appreciate what a nice bit of kit this thing is.

Second, Cosina Hi-Lite EC. This is an interesting one - it appears to be a kind of ultimate evolution of the Copal shutter chassis that the Ricoh Singlex, Nikkormat, original Hi-Lite, Chinonflex etc were based on. It certainly shares physical features with them such as the frame counter, end-mounted flash sync sockets, rewind knob etc and the inside is pretty much the same. Where this one differs is that it has a 1/2000s top shutter speed and automatic stop-down aperture priority AE a la the Chinon CE Memotron series. At first I thought it was related to those but closer inspection shows it to be closer to the familiar Copal shutter bodies. Can anyone tell me more?
A cute thing on this one is that the film speed can only be set in DIN, so a DIN-ASA conversion chart is provided - inside the back door. So you load your film, advance it to the first frame, think 'ah - forgot to set the speed' and then realise you never looked at those other pesky numbers on the box. Hang on, there's a chart! But where is it? Oh...

New addition, Ikonta 520-A, 7 cm, f:3.5 Novar coated lens in a Compur shutter, $25 it all works, clean glass. Shoots 120 film, 16 frames on a roll @ 4.5x6 cm per frame.

This is a real "pocket" camera! I have a roll of ISO 100 B/W in it at the moment, but I expect to run a roll of Ektar 100 as soon as the B/W tests good. This is likely to become my FAVORITE folder!

Firstly my gorgeous Pentax K with its Zebra-Takumar has two new contemporaries as friends, a Auto-Takumar 105/2.8 and a Takumar (preset) 135/3.5,I believe these are two of the prettiest lenses Pentax made. These came complete with their original caps and original genuine leather cases.
Secondly my film fridge has been re-stocked from the freezer. The freezer still has plenty more in it!

I'm not really into the whole gang bang thing but I couldn't pass up this one:

(full resolution)

Back row:
Maginon-Serie 500mm f/8 (Minolta, preset)
Hanimex 200mm f/4.5 (M42, preset)
Travenar 135mm f/2.8 (Minolta MC)
Tokina RMC 35-105mm f/3.5-4.3 (Minolta MD)
Makinon 24-50mm f/3.3-4.5 (Minolta MD)
Soligor C/D 28mm f/2.8 (Minolta MD, Serial: 6xxxxxxxx = Komine?)

Front row:
Tamron SP 26A 35-210mm f/3.5-4.2 (Adaptall-2)
Minolta MD 200mm f/2.8
Minolta MC 100mm f/2.5 (incl. original hood)
Minolta MC 35mm f/1.8 (incl. original hood)
Minolta MC 50mm f/1.4

The rest:
2x Minolta X-700
Soligor MP Auto Tele Converter 2x (Minolta MD)
Komura Telemore95 II 7.k.m.c (Minolta MD)
Minolta scope converter
WeimarLux Nova light meter
Gossen Lunasix

I only wanted the Minolta 200/2.8 but the seller didn't want to sell it separately.
340€ for the lot seemed like a good price...

Good thing Saturnalia is coming up, I've got lenses to test.

Thanks for posting this gorgeous piece of camera p0rn. Seeing the iris of those lenses reminds me of a recent thread on this site claiming that reduction of iris diaphragm blades happened in the 1970s as a cost-cutting strategy. Noooo...I don't thing sooooo...

I find Fomapan to be the most consistent performer of the really cheap films,so I use it for film testing "new" camera bodies. The stock I have of it cost me less than $1 a roll.

I have quite a few older lenses (damned LBA) and the change in iris blade numbers seems to occur with the introduction of auto aperture lenses, it may be due to mechanics not cost.
