The Auto Takumar 55/1.8 zebra this camera came with might look cooler, but my version of the Zeiss produces sharper photos with more organised bokeh. Plus the pre-set aperture, with all those blades, works so smoothly and is a joy to use (unlike the focus ring!).
The K is the early Pentax I lust after... I wonder why?

If anyone doesn't like black lenses...

Before:

After 3 weeks of UV-C (<10cm in front of the front element, >130w/m²):

On the plus side, the UV-C bulb worked where a normal blacklight did [EXPLETIVE DELETED] all to remove the yellowing...

Thanks its very cool and uncommon. It was made in 1959 and Neoca filed for bankruptcy in January 1960!
Even cooler is the box still has the price on it, £31-5-2 ,we've had decimal currency here since 1966.

Beautiful shot and hope that all is in good working order!
I actually prefer an "incomplete" set . . . the thrill of the hunt . . .

Good looking setup.
I try to keep zebra out of my mind but it isn't working so well!

Great haul Jean its hard to keep up with your thrift store "Porn". While they are working X700's are nice to shoot with but they can be a bit fragile, especially the electronics. But that 35-70mm MD zoom on the front of it is one of my all time favourite lenses they were so good that they were also produced under the Leica badge,a constant f3.5 stack of primes that also had Macro.
Here's some of my recent additions from combing a local second hand market. A rare Neoca rangefinder in full working order with its box, a mint condition Helios with its original caps and a very rare find a Pentax 35mm film cassette that looks like it was hardly used and I still got change from $10 AUD for this lot.

That is a nice score!

I'm more camera collector than photographer. I've collected many of the upper-end, non-Leica manual focus SLR cameras from the 70's and 80's like Nikon's F2 and F3, Canon's F1 and F1 new, the Olympus OM4Ti, Contax RTS II, etc, but the jewel of Pentax manual focus cameras has up til now eluded me... no more!

A very simple and intuitive aperture-priority camera whose very simplicity belies the excellent craftsmanship beneath. The viewfinder has to be seen to be believed.

Very nice looking and with the sync terminal cover that has so far eluded me. Congrats!

That's a tough call. I find the Canons a bit fiddly, the OM4Ti is nice but I'm annoyed with how hard the FP flash is to get figured out, and the F2, well I feel it's a great camera but an even better weapon or emergency hammer. I haven't used the RTS II enough to say for sure but it's another lovely camera. The LX is very very nice and I'd rank it alongside, maybe even higher than the F3. Definitely easier to focus with the LX and see the shutter speed.

I feel your pain Wolf!
I don't have any Leicas but I have quite a few Nikons, Pentax, Mamiya-Sekor and Canon's in my collection. While I admire Contax and even Yashica (among others) I have deliberately limited myself to the above as I already have way, WAY too much equipment. I shoot them all on a regular basis; not as much as I'd like but I do try.

The LX has eluded me as well; it's getting tough to find the equipment we love in decent condition these days.

My Tower 26 is the AP. The shutter speed scale on the AP is different from "S".

In the link from LesDMess, you see that the S and AP both are denoted as Tower 26. The I don't know if this is correct or not.

Regards
Baard-Einar.
