Good question with an answer beyond me ... maybe it's rare.

Wish that I could sell my small Tamron AD-2 SP 350/5.6 mirror for that kind of money !

I bought a K2DMD "for spares or repair" then sent it to Eric to wave his magic wand over. Last week I was reunited with it when I was visiting a friend in Ohio. I took a quick snap on the table of my hotel room along with some K series lenses to keep the body company!

K series equipment par Kris Lockyear, on ipernity

The lenses are (left to right): 17/4 Fisheye, 50/1.2, 28/3.5 shift, 50/1.4 (on the camera), 135/2.5, 85/1.8 and 30/2.8, all K-series, of course!

Best wishes, Kris.

Well, since y'all hate me, as Steve has said recently ... here's the latest score from the thrift store. Since the exposure compensation dial cover was missing, they only made me pay 4€. With new batteries and a good clean, everything works fine as far as I can tell now ... the Tokina 28/2.8 is in great shape. With the thrift store, it's feast and famine ... and right now, there's a lot of Olympus blood in the water!

A few decades ago, when I worked for a newspaper, I normally carried a Nikon F2 with a 35mm f/2, an 85mm f/1.8, and a 180mm f/2.8. I carried these items plus a Vivitar 283 flash, a handheld light meter, and a few rolls of b&w film in a small army surplus bag on a 650cc BSA motorcycle.

The lenses to watch for from Olympus are the shift and the bellows macro lenses. Olympus had experience with microscopes before going into cameras, and their high magnification bellows lenses are still highly regarded.

It took me a long time to see the benefit and beauty of TLRs, but now I really like them.

Me too, but I don't use my Yashicamat 124G too often as it is a bit bulky. I've had a lot of fun with the Lubitel 2 though, and it is surprisingly sharp for a basic camera although focusing is a bit of guesswork.

Cheers, Kris.

Very nice.
That reminds me I need to get all my recently inherited folders, range finders, and large format out for a family portrait!
