My small Welta Welti 35mm folder. From what I found out about the lens it is from 1937 or so. It is in working condition just needs a CLA as expected for such an old camera.

Looks to have been well cared for.

In 1971 Asahi was behind the competition, the other brands had produced new, and more advanced models. To try to gain some ground, Asahi remodeled the old, and very successful Asahi Spotmatic and introduced to the market Asahi Spotmatic II.
The SP II is basically the same camera as the Spotmatic, the prism house was changed so that the slope started directly from the top plate, making the house wider and more stubby. The flash shoe occupies this added space. The sensitivity of the light meter is increased up to ASA 3200.

The real news in 1971, is not this camera, but the lenses. The lenses were the center of the ads, since they were coated with a multilayer coat to reduce flare. This coating was called, as we all know, Super Multi Coated, S-M-C or later SMC.
The pictures below show two of my SP II bodies; the regular camera body in black with a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 28mm f3.5, and the SP II Motor drive with a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 135mm f2.5. The motor drive version was special order only model, heavy and not very ergonomic. Think the total weight excluding the lens, is around 1750gr.

Nothing earth shattering here. Just a 5 thrift store score in "like new" condition with live batteries. (See "5" written on lens) ... just needs door seals.

The case is brown leather and looks great after a bit of shoe polish ... one for the personal collection, for sure.

But I have a question for y'all. There's a "bar code" type sticker on the bottom. Has anyone seen something similar? Just curious ...

I don't know about the bar code, but posted just to let you know that we hate you. We all hate you.

Have you thought about opening your own used camera shop?

... Guess I won't show you my yard sale scores from last weekend ...

It's Sunday morning now and I am about to go out again. Early bird gates the worm ... so to speak.

I may have posted these images way back. The Rollei, sadly, has a dent on the top plate where my son dropped it (he felt very bad about that), but SFAIK it works perfectly, Can you guess which camera was free?

A Rollei-made Tessar. Huh. That's got to be a late-production 35T then, from what little I recall of them.

Good question with an answer beyond me ... maybe it's rare.

Wish that I could sell my small Tamron AD-2 SP 350/5.6 mirror for that kind of money !

I bought a K2DMD "for spares or repair" then sent it to Eric to wave his magic wand over. Last week I was reunited with it when I was visiting a friend in Ohio. I took a quick snap on the table of my hotel room along with some K series lenses to keep the body company!

K series equipment par Kris Lockyear, on ipernity

The lenses are (left to right): 17/4 Fisheye, 50/1.2, 28/3.5 shift, 50/1.4 (on the camera), 135/2.5, 85/1.8 and 30/2.8, all K-series, of course!

Best wishes, Kris.
