I haven't kept up with used prices in 135 format and have had that 50/1.2 lens a long time. How expensive is it these days?
KEH has one in EX+ for $751.

Did anyone say camera porn?

I like these gear threads, they give me a chance to look through the collection and take a few new photos.

Warning! Some of the following pictures may trigger LBA or CBA attacks.

LX with the K50/1.2

My other workhorse, the KX, here with K35/3.5

A nice black MX

Taking a step back in time now from the 70's and 80's we have an Asahi Pentax S, the second model branded Pentax.

A beat up black Spotmatic

Taking a further step backwards in time we have a Contessa-Nettel Cocarette. The production of the camera started in 1919, in 1926 the company merged into the Zeiss Ikon group so the camera must be from some time between 1919 and 1926.

When speaking about Zeiss, here is an East German Belca Beltica, with Carl Zeiss lens.

From the middle of the 60's we have a Minolta Hi-Matic 7s, a very nice rangefinder. The Hi-Matic series sadly degraded into some plastic slow-lens camera in the 80's.

Last, but certainly NOT least, we have the king of all SLRs, the Fuji GX680. A monstrous lump of perfection weighing in at over 4kg.

Looks in excellent shape. Does that have front lens tilt?

Thanks. I've had it since new around 1992ish. The brass is tarnishing. It needs a little polish.

The LX's bright beautiful finder and the ability of the f1.2 to isolate subjects using Fuji 100 film . . .

I've been looking for a different gal to do a similar shot like this again. Looking through the WLF on a Pentax 6x7

Since we are doing generic camera porn, I will see your Wisner and raise you a Chamonix!

No brass, just teak, carbon fiber, and machined aluminum alloy...also sadly neglected...

Steve

I really should buy a roll of film for this at some point.

What kind of porn does it count as when someone left their load behind when you bought it?

I like the larger front lens board on that rig. It gives you room for a recessed board if needed. The Wisner bottoms out at 90mm and needs a recessed lens board for a wider lens but it is too damn small to allow the lens levers to fit comfortably recessed.

And out in the field, I found I really don't care for a fancy wood camera. I'd actually prefer a more rugged one. But I guess that doesn't matter much anymore for the few times I take it out each year.
