So far, it's working very well. It's missing a small screw from one of the strap brackets, and the slow speeds are off, but the lenses are fairly clean, and the film transport works well.
I've been keeping an eye on Rolleiflex 2.8s for awhile, and they're usually out of my budget. I got lucky with this one.

I keep shaming a colleague into selling me his Rolleiflex since he hasn't used it in years. That and some green hasn't convinced him yet!

What's the focal length and aperture on that Schneider? It's making me all tingly

There is a nice boxed Rolleiflex at a camera store near where I work. I believe it's a model T type 2, I forget the price.

If anyone wants more info let me know, I'll check it out next time I pass the store.

Phil.

I just received an old Nikkor 85 mm f1.8 last generation, a K...that was Aid, now it's the official lens of my F2A system:

It takes beautiful pictures (see other thread).

I'm also becoming fond of these 70s Fujicas, they are quite similar to Spotmatic, for certain aspects even better:

That's a sweet setup Cuthbert. I have a pair of F2's-chrome F2AS and black F2 eye level. And I'd like to have the 85 1.8 K like you have. I have the 85 1.8D AF lens.

I'm working tomorrow and will check it out.

Phil..

Took a look at lunch today and here is a picture. Camera looks in mint condition with all the boxes. $1250 CDN, which would be around $940USD.

Phil.

Very nice as I have also been trying to acquire one or two of these Fujicas (701, 801 or 901) with a Fujinon or two.

I knew that Colton's find was priced very well as these Rolleiflexes command a pretty penny!

Thanks for reporting back.

I would recommend the top mechanical models that allow open metering: namely the 801, 705 and 705W.

I don't like the 901 because it works just aperture priority mode, it's a very limited camera IMO, I bought the one I have because it came with the expensive Fujinon 50 mm f1.4, and I could get both for 45 euros.

Among the three top models I think the 705W is the best because it's not just a 705 that can take the winder, but it has a very nice viewfinder with the a blue bar on the left that indicates the shutter speed (sort of like the KX), plues there is a different shutter lock mechanism like a Pentax (the 801 and 705 require to pull the shutter release up and turn it in a lock position) plus the winding lever is improved and requires a shorter stroke (sort of like the difference between the first series of the Canon F-1 and F-1n) plus the plastic tip has a better shape IMO.

Shutter speeds on the 705 and 70W are capped at 1/1500sec because 1/2000s was a feature of the top range, the 801, which is a nice camera but its leds (like the leds of the Nikon F2AS) and I personally think the pentaprism of the 705 looks nicer...later I'll post a picture of the "family" all together.

Apologies for the lousy pics, this is my Fujica M42 system:

Which consists in one ST901, one ST705, one ST705W, one ST801, a 50 mm f1.4, two 55mm f1.8, a 28 mm f3.5, a 135 mm f2.5, a 70-150 zoom and various trash.

This is the 705W with the 135 mm:

As written before I like the peculiar shape fo the 705 pentaprism.

Another shot of the F2A with the 85mm and correct hood.
