I do not think that I put up this recent acquisition ...a working KM (plus other) from the French site, "Le Bon Coin", and pretty cheap ...

It's been one year since I started diving into analog photography. As I earlier said before on these forums, i inherated an MX with the infamous Pentax-M 40mm f/2.8 (which I like a lot), rediscovered the pleasure of taking photos and fell in love with Pentax gear. Though what really got into my heart was, on top of others, the K series cameras and lenses : their weight, aesthetic and of course the outstanding optical quality of the lenses. I've been on a strike these recent months and the family has grown in spectacular manner (to me at least), since i've been lucky enough to find deals i couldn't pass on. I received today my latest purchase (KX body, 35mm f/2, 105mm f/2.8) and so I thought it was a good time to take a few pictures and share it with you.

History family (all prices include shipping costs) :

- 1st black KX Body, 35eu
- K 28mm f/3.5, 50eu
- 28mm to 35mm original Pentax hood, 30eu (bought to Gofour3 btw)
- K 55mm f/1.8, 28eu (foire internationale de la photographie at Bièvres)
- K 35mm f/3.5 and K 50mm f/1.4, 100eu
- 2nd black KX Body, K 105 f/2.8 and K 35mm f/2, 93eu

1st Photo (left to right) :
- 2nd black KX Body (features split-screen focusing), mounted with K 35mm f/2 and original Pentax hood
- MX Body mounted with M 40mm f/2.8
- 1st black KX Body (features micro-prism focusing), mounted with K 105 f/2.8 and original Pentax hood

2nd Photo (left to right again) :
- K 28mm f/3.5
- K 35mm f/2
- K 35mm f/3.5
- K 50mm f/1.4
- K 55mm f/1.8
- K 105mm f/2.8
As you can notice i am still missing 2 of the original cases (50 and 55mm), one original 52mm cap and the original Pentax hood for standard lenses. Gofour3, maybe you have one standard hood spare ?

Very nice! You might be interested in knowing that shoe polish works nicely on those vintage lens and camera cases.

A new addition to the family! (The MZ-3, not the 43mm)
I shot with it all last night at an event and am instantly a loving fan of this body.

Lovely collection Karenine and I agree completely with your opinion of the K lenses. One or two more will complete my own collection but I remain as disappointed now as many years ago when the M line took over. As fine as many of the M and later A lenses are they just never again seemed as desirable for that certain elusive feel and quality the K lineup had. I think it was a short golden age of Pentax lenses and indeed an affair of the heart.

Wow, that is an attractive combo. My K85 has a lot of wear on the barrel, and would look so good on my KX if I had dcshooter do his magic on it.

Cuthbert, for some reason, I had the impression that those Fujica SLRs were large, like Pentax K size or bigger, not nearly as small as Pentax MX/ME/etc., although I've never owned one. Is that true? I suppose at the time Fuji were producing Gx690xx rangefinder clown cameras simultaneously, so even a very large 35mm SLR would seem tiny and they might get careless and non-Maitani-like about trying to shrink it further...

Another view to compare; these seem to be my favorite three M42 cameras.

The MX and KX were my first Pentax SLRs that set me on my current trend as well. Beautiful set!

I also like the uncluttered prism and viewfinder!
Still looking for a zebra for my K!
