Ah, the EF. My first SLR, bought at the Army PX, Ft. Stewart, Georgia, sometime in '76, as I recall.

Nice F2's. I have a pair-one chrome and one black. My DE-1 finder is black.

That EF looks in great shape and hopefully fully functional. Canon made some hefty models during that era!

Nothing special again ... picked up a meter inoperative KM-K55/1.8 combo from my thrift store for 5€ (on left) ... that now makes three K55/1.8 in the herd, thus time to move one or two along ... xpost

This KX belonged to my fiancee's dad. He bought it in '76 when they were living in England and kept it until he died in 2008. I didn't realize how dirty it was until I looked at the pics.

Nothing new, but one of my favorites.

Wasn't the joke about Bronica, that they came fully equip with a tool kit for when they broke?
It sounds like the sort of rhetorical question from someone who was jealous. (or from a Hassy owner who was a snob!)
What was your experience?

That sounds like something born from brand snobbery
I own a Hasselblad, 2 Rolleiflexes, a Pentax 67 and 645, and this ETRSi is one of my favorite and most used cameras.
I haven't had even the slightest issue since getting it over a year ago, and over 25 rolls of film through it.
It's well made, inexpensive, easy to use, and capable of very good images.

Colton you need a Kiev 60, possibly made by Arax!

I actually wouldn't mind having a Pentacon 6 with the Biometar 80/2.8 and a 120/2.8

I'm pretty set for medium format though...

My Bronica S2 developed a sticky mirror in about two years of light usage.

My Bronica S2 has worked flawlessly for the past 3 years, and it's never been serviced AFAIK.

Either the S3 was improved, or it's a matter of hit or miss.

S3?
I think it's (like all cameras) a bit hit and miss.
You could get a problematic Hasselblad just like you could get a problematic Bronica.
The earlier D, S, S2, EC, EC-TL Bronicas were probably a bit more problematic, but from what I've read, and in my experience, the ETR and SQ cameras are pretty dependable cameras.

Looks good and it's easy to clean up. Send it to Eric for a CLA and it will come back looking like it did in 1976.

The KX and K55/1.8 is still my favorite combo.

Phil.

From todays trip to Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg. Portrait shot of my KX loaded with Ilford FP4 plus 125ASA.

Nor many around with a film camera.

The KX is a motor drive version. Cla by Eric. Really nice condition. A treat to use.
