Did you polish the black off the focus rings?

Do you have the 'eyes' to go with it?

SFAIK the collapsible version of the f2 Sumicron was not, could not be fitted with the "eyeglasses" over the rangefinder windows to provide "dual range" focusing. Dual-range Sumicrons were only made in rigid form.
WPRESTO beat me to it... As far as I know the dual-range was the only Leica 50mm with goggles, and I don't think there was ever a collapsible of any focal length with goggles. There was a number of goggled 35mm's for use on the M3 (which has 50mm as the widest framelines).

Here are two of my most recent acquisitions - a virtaully mint condition "M" 120mm f/2.8 lens and a hand-made leather strap I bought in Japan. Here both are modeled by my old ME Super, which I recently discovered has a very nervous light meter.

Cross-posted to the latest acquisition thread.

The first version of the 90mm macro-Elmar-M (which is collapsible) has goggles on the macro adapter (extension). The current version no longer has goggles, after they added live-view to the digital M models.

@dcshooter Did that end up being any cheaper than the Pentax equivalent?

I picked up the lens in a bulk lot, so it was only about 100 bucks, and I'd say the image quality is on par with or better than the A1.2.

Substantial time/labor investment, though.
An impressive accomplishment, anyway

Picked this up at a flea market. Unfortunately the batteries were left in the flash and, even after a thorough attempt at cleaning off the corrosion, that's well and truly dead. But I wasn't truly interested in the flash unit anyway.

Someone spent a lot of money on this back in the day: not only was there the flash, but it also has the data back instead of the regular back. I might have made use of the flash, had it worked, but the data back...

It counts to the end of 2018 2019, of all years. So still good for approximately another 18 30 months.

Edit: Just checked a sales brochure. It says it's good until 2019, so I may have misremembered what I saw the last date as. The date starts counting at 1980 — several years before the camera was even on the market — for a total of 30 years. Not a terrible lifespan, I suppose.

So, the Japanese Death Poems in the background is nearly relevant.

Can't you set the date to eg. 1987 and shoot a couple of photo's and show them of to friends, saying: see, this photo is made 30 years ago...

And I'll shoot it on some of my expired and no longer produced stock, so even the negatives look period appropriate.

Cars newer than 1987 (WHich I'd know right away)

Cell phones

tablets

personal computers

fidget spinners

handheld gaming consoles

flat-screen TVs

DVD players

iPods

"Smart" devices

I recently picked up a nice condition Super-Macro-Takumar 50mm f4 from the local classifieds (the Tak, an M50/f1.4 and a buggered ME and black-paint Spotmatic for all of $50aud!) and decided to test it out with my partner's Oly 35rd.

Shot adapted on an EM5 - this was at f16
